Check all residents first
eSHa warns that alx kills shrimp and crayfish and calls for removal of other vulnerable invertebrates or a separate fish-treatment system. Marine fish use is described for quarantine. Do not interpret a fish amount as proof that a mixed aquarium is suitable.
Dosing days and action days are different
The alx calculator presents a 21-day plan with additions on Days 1 and 14 and water-change/bottom-cleaning actions on Days 7 and 21. An action row is not another medicine addition.
The manufacturer's wording describes two dosing days across the plan, not a daily three-week dose. Compare your leaflet and the displayed course before starting; ask eSHa if your instructions differ.
Prepare the system
eSHa distinguishes non-adsorbing filtration, which stays running, from active chemical media, UV and other listed equipment. It advises against adding more than the stated amount. Read the full instructions for water changes, prior products and complications before use.
A practical course record
- Record the exact bottle and treatment-system water volume.
- Copy the separate dates for additions and maintenance actions.
- Record what you actually did, including replacement water and other products.
- Review an unexpected response with appropriate advice rather than inventing an extra addition or manually extracting a parasite from an article's instructions.
