First day, subsequent day or maintenance?
The first-day reference is 5 mL per 40 L. Subsequent daily additions and maintenance use 5 mL per 80 L. Seachem describes seven daily additions after the initial amount.
Worked examples
These illustrations use 100 L of measured water, without a decor deduction. Choose the matching stage or formulation above for your own water volume. They do not select a treatment or establish livestock suitability.

Before you measure
Shake well; follow the UV/ozone timing. A stage result is one application and does not prove the filter is ready for a particular fish load. Continue water testing.
Product-specific checks from the calculation record
- Shake well. Switch off UV/ozone during cycling doses; Seachem specifies seven days for cycling and at least 24 hours for maintenance additions.
- Monitor ammonia and nitrite. The calculator does not certify that an aquarium is cycled or ready for a particular stocking level.
Does one first-day result replace the rest of the course?
No. Select the subsequent-day mode for those additions and keep a dated record of the routine.
