Conditioning water or supporting damaged skin?
The US label has separate standard and doubled skin/fin-support amounts. For conditioning, enter the new water; for the skin/fin application, enter the whole aquarium water volume.
Worked examples
These illustrations use 100 L of measured water, without a decor deduction. Choose the matching stage or formulation above for your own water volume. They do not select a treatment or establish livestock suitability.
Standard water-conditioning amount
| Stage | Amount or action for 100 L |
|---|---|
| When adding / changing water | 13.21 mL |
Label amount for slime-coat / damaged skin and fins
| Stage | Amount or action for 100 L |
|---|---|
| Label skin / fin-support use | 26.42 mL |
Example only. Your calculation above uses your own inputs. Small amounts and powder fractions still need equipment that can measure them reliably.
Before you measure
Select the purpose deliberately. API does not recommend this product with a protein skimmer. A skin-support mode is not a diagnosis of why a fish is unwell.
Product-specific checks from the calculation record
- Select the label purpose rather than automatically doubling a routine water-conditioning amount. This is a water conditioner, not a diagnosis or a substitute for disease treatment.
- These quantities follow the manufacturer’s US label. If your bottle gives different reference volumes or strengths, use that label and request its specific variant.
Should every water change use the doubled amount?
The doubled label amount has a different purpose. It is not the automatic standard for replacement-water conditioning.
